“I'm Through With That”
For 35 years, Ali's family ran Golden Food Market — a classic New York bodega. His brothers expected him to keep selling beer and cigarettes. Ali had a different vision.
In 2015, he took a leap of faith and opened East Village Organic at 124 1st Avenue, right in the heart of the neighborhood. No beer. No cigarettes. Just clean, organic food and fresh-pressed juices.
“I'm through with that,” Ali told his brothers. And he meant it.
Ten years later, East Village Organic is a neighborhood institution — a place where everyone from NYU students to longtime East Village residents comes for organic groceries, legendary smoothies, and a warm hello from Ali himself.

Walk in and you'll smell the fresh produce. The juice bar hums with blenders making Coco Clouds and Secret Garden juices. The shelves are stacked with organic pantry essentials, the city's most extensive Yogi Tea collection, vitamins, supplements, and health products.
We also serve traditional Lebanese food made fresh daily, hearty soups in winter, and acai bowls all year round. Need groceries delivered? We're on Mercato too.
